The science behind OS-01 LIP SPF
As you age, your lips lose resilience, structure, and regenerative capacity—especially under daily UV exposure. OS-01 LIP SPF is uniquely formulated to not only protect against sun damage but also support lip rejuvenation by addressing inflammation, aging markers, and structural decline at the cellular level.
In lab studies on ex vivo human skin samples, OS-01 LIP SPF:
- Shields lips from UV-induced damage, including inflammation (IL-8), tissue damage (MMP3), and aging (CDKN1A/p21) biomarkers
- Promotes elastin production (ELN) and reduces signs of existing aging (CDKN1A/P21 & CDKN2A/P16)
- Significantly increases epidermal thickness to support stronger, more resilient lips
Shown in lab studies on ex vivo human skin samples by measuring the relative expression levels of the ELN gene (2^-ddCt), which encodes elastin, in the dermis 24 hours after topical application.

I love this, it gives me SPF lip coverage but I can just use it as a lip balm over a liner.
